No personal data collected

WiFi & IP Info — One Click (“the app”) is a macOS menu-bar utility published by bushev.dev. This page explains what data is and is not collected when you use the app. There are no dark patterns here, and we do not reserve the right to change that later without telling you.

What we collect

The app uses TelemetryDeck for anonymous, aggregated analytics. TelemetryDeck is engineered so that identifying an individual user is technically impossible: every signal is hashed and salted before storage, and the raw identifier never leaves your Mac.

Specifically, the app may send:

  • Anonymous event signals (e.g. “app launched”, “tab switched”, “language changed”, “RPM test started”).
  • Aggregated performance counters.
  • App version and macOS version, used only for aggregate statistics such as “what share of users are on macOS 15”.

No IP address, no device identifier, no Apple ID, and no user-linked data is ever retained.

What we do NOT collect

  • Your name, email, or any contact information.
  • Contents of network traffic or packet payloads.
  • Wi-Fi passwords or credentials.
  • Your geographic location.
  • Data from other apps on your device.
  • Your latency samples, ping history, DNS resolver list, traceroute hops, and Connection Log entries: these are stored locally on your Mac only and are never transmitted to us or to any third party.
  • The contents of any Helpdesk Export report. The export lives in your clipboard; we never see it.

Purchases and Pro Lifetime

When you unlock Pro Lifetime via the $9.99 In-App Purchase, Apple handles the transaction end to end. The app receives a StoreKit receipt from Apple, inspects it locally to confirm the purchase, and flips a persistent local flag. No purchase metadata is sent to our servers, because we do not run any servers.

Existing customers who bought any 1.x version get Pro unlocked automatically: on first launch of 2.0, the app reads the original purchase receipt through AppTransaction / StoreKit 2 and decides locally whether to grandfather the entitlement. No lookup leaves your Mac.

Data retention

Latency samples, Connection Log sessions, and Network Quality history stored locally on your Mac are automatically pruned after 30 days by default. You can change the retention window (or clear it manually) in Settings → Insights → Data & history.

Anonymous TelemetryDeck signals are retained by TelemetryDeck for up to 12 months in aggregate form.

Third-party services

Opt out of analytics

You can disable anonymous analytics at any time: Settings → Data & Privacy → toggle off. When disabled, the TelemetryDeck SDK is suspended and no signals are sent.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. It contains no advertising and no social features.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published at this URL and the “Last updated” date above will be revised. A short explanation of the change will accompany the next release in the changelog.
